Rhythms

All of life has rhythm. Rhythm describes the pattern of forward movement in time. There is a rhythm to how you walk, to the cadence of your speech, and to how you go about your morning routine.

Different situations call for different rhythms. Getting ready for a Friday night out with friends has a very different rhythm than getting ready for bed.

We all need a range of rhythms to be healthy. We need aerobic vigor and restorative stillness.

We all have rhythms we like to be in. Some people get uncomfortable with slow rhythms. They feel like if they stop moving something bad will happen. Some people avoid fast-paced rhythms, fearing they’ll lose control.

What rhythms do you enjoy most? Which do you struggle with?
