I wonder how many people look in the mirror after a shower and always like what they see.
It seems like not liking how we look is a challenge for many of us.
This self-judgment can be paralyzing. It can really dampen our spirits.
It is the cause of a lot of pain and avoidance. We likely look away from it, or try to ignore it. This splitting off of ourselves, this being at odds with ourselves, it is a drain on our presence and vitality.
Our body continues to change as we age. Our skin wrinkles, our muscles atrophy, our hairlines recede.
How can we embrace ourselves in the face of "ugliness"?
